The ParData programme consists of separated subprograms which are as follows: 1. computation of main databases; 2. computation of auxiliary databases for main databases; 3. search and report utilities. Record structures of the main databases Collection-book The collection numbers and the names of the host species are displayed in a report table (Fig. 1). After selecting the appropriate existing record, the user is able to view, change, or delete the displayed record. After pressing the ins key, a new record will be defined. Fields of the record in the collection-book (Fig. 2) are the following: Collection number: it is an autonumbered field, automatically incremented when adding a new record to the database of collection-book; Inventory and other numbers (e. g. coll. numbers of the Mammalian Collection); Code numbers of the host species. Family, genus, species and subspecies, are respectively coded as two- and/or four byte integer variables in Intel 8086 word integer format. Based on the code number, the appropiate names are recalled from the auxiliary databases, named registers; Sex of the host species; Fig. 1. Report table of the computerized collection book
