Cervicola tibialis (Piaget, 1880); Syn.: Trichodectes tibialis Piaget, 1880; Eutrichophilus tibialis Kéler, 1934 - Known from Central and Northwestern Europe as a typical parasite of the fallow deer (Dama dama L.). It is also noted from the roe deer (Capreolus capreolus L.) in Europe, and was occasionally found on a Dybowski deer Cervus nippon dybowskii (Taczanowski) in the zoo of Lodz, Poland. Damalinia Mjöberg, 1910 Damaliniacornuta (Gervais, 1844);Syn.: Trichodectescornutus Gervais, 1844-Known as a parasite of dorcas gazelles (Gazella dorcas L), also found in zoos. Damalinia theileri Bedford, 1928; A typical parasite of the African blue wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus taurinus Burch.). It was collected on the subspecies (Connochaetes taurinus alboiubatus Thorn.) in a zoo, in Poland. Trichodectidae Burmeister. 1838 Trichodectinae Burmeister, 1838 Trichodectes Nitzsch, 1818 * Trichodectes canis (De Geer, 1778); Syn.: Ricinus canis De Geer, 1778; Trichodectus latus Nitzsch, 1818 - It is distributed world-wide, but not in tropical areas. Parasitizes domestic dogs (Canis familiáris L.). Occasionally found on other species of the Canis genus, like on wolf (Canis lupus L.) in North America and on dingo (Canis dingo L.) in Australia. Collected from dogs in Hungary. Zlotorzycka found it on a Canis lupus occidentalis Rich in the zoo of Lodz. • Trichodectes melis (Fabricius, 1805); Syn.: Pediculus metis Fabricius, 1805 - Found in Europe and Asia as a parasite of different subspecies of the badger (Mêles mêles L.). It was collected in Hungary from badgers. Stachiella Kéler, 1938 Stachiella jacobi Eichler, 1941 - Parasitizes the polecat (Mustelaputorius putorius L.) in Central Europe. * Stachiella mustelae (Schrank, 1803); Syn.: Pediculus mustelae Schrank, 1803 - Known from Central and Southern Europe, Asia and Africa as a parasite of the weasel (Mustela nivalis L.). • Stachiella retusa (Burmeister, 1838); Syn.: Trirhodectes retusus Burmeister, 1838 Occurs in Central and Southern Europe, and in North America. Lives on the pine marten (Maries martes L), the stone marten (M. foina End.) and the American marten (M. americana caurina Merr.). Two subspecies are known. * Stachiella retusa retusa (Burmeister, 1838) - Lives on the stone marten (Maries foina foina Erxl.).
