The species P. bliccae is discussed in detail. Key words: Fish parasites, Monogenea, Diplozoon, Paradiplozoon INTRODUCTION The research aimed at giving a complete picture of the helminth parasites of the fish in Lake Balaton has revealed five species of the monogenean family Diplozoidae Palombi, 1949. The gill parasites of Hungarian fishes have been described in detail by Molnár (1970). He discussed the occurrence of six species of the genus Diplozoon, mentioning that the description of numerous new species was to be expected due in the course of further investigations. MATERIALS AND METHODS The test material was collected from the south-western part of Lake Balaton (Bay of Keszthely). The gills of fishes were examined under dissecting microscope. After fixation the collected helminths were stored in 70% alcohol and were later stained with alum-carmine. This study was supported by a grant from the National Scientific Research Fund (OTKA 1/3, No: 1419).
