Dr. Murai Éva szerk.: Parasitologia Hungarica 25. (Budapest, 1992)

Female: Body length 3.35-4.94 mm (av. 4.29 mm, n=ll). Cephalic vesicle measuring 38-44x32-42 (av. 42.5x37.6, n=6). Width at anterior end 22-32 (av. 28, n=ll), at midbody 72-115 (av. 93, n=ll). Oesophagus 340-352 (av. 348, n=ll) long. Nerve ring, excretory pore and deirids at 84-86 (av. 85, n=5), 176-178 (av. 176.6, n=5), and 186-193 (av. 189.5, n=5), respectively, from anterior body end (Fig. 1A). Vulva situated at 1.10-1.26 mm (av. 1.18 mm, n=8) from posterior body end. Vagina short. Ovejector 198-232 (av. 202, n=7) long, with well-developed sphincters (Fig. 1C). Tail conical, 88-96 (av. 94, n=8) long, ending with 3 spines - one thin dorsal, 20-25 (av. 22, n=7) long; two shorter ventral, 10-18 (av. 14, n=7) long (Fig. IB). Eggs oval, measuring 58-86 x 35-45 (av. 79.3 x 42.3, n=6). Discussion: The redescribed specimens of Molinostrongylus alatus correspond well, in both synlophe structure and other morphological characters, to the initial description of Ortlepp (1932) and to the descriptions of Skarbilovitch (1934) and Durette-Desset and Chabaud (1975). This also refers to the form of spicules distal end which is divided into two parts: an inner shorter and pointed, and an outer longer and blunted. In none of the specimens studied did we observe triple division of the distal tip of spicules as described by Morosov and Spassky (1961) and Skvorzov (1971b). The spicules are 303-340 (av. 325) long. With respect to this character, our materials are closer to the specimens collected in North Africa (Morocco) (Dollfus 1954), and to those from Moldova (Skvorzov 1971b). Durette-Desset and Chabaud (1975) have also marked significant variation in the dimensions of the dorsal ridge and in the length of spicules but the lack of variation in the synlophe and distal end of spicules; on this basis, they consider this species as a polymorphic one. Further studies on this polymorphism, however, might reveal other, more significant differences between nematodes from Africa and Europe which might substantiate some more definite taxonomic conclusions. Molinostrongyluspanousei Dollfus, 1954 Syn. Molinostrongylus ornatus (Mönnig, 1927) sensu Yanchev and Stoykova, 1973. Host: Miniopterus schreibersi Kuhl - 3.84%. Intensity of infection 1-21. Location: small intestine. Distribution in Bulgaria: Sofia, Vratsa, Pernik, and Burgas regions. Redescription (based on 12 male and 12 female specimens from M. schreibersi, Sofia region): Small thin nematodes with tapering anterior end. Cuticle with fine longitudinal and transverse striation. Two amphids, 6 labial and 4 cephalic papillae visible on apical section (Fig. 2D). Synlophe: In both sexes, body covered from one to other end with 16 longitudinal cuticular ridges: two lateral alae 15-17 (av. 16.5, n=6) high and 11-12.5 wide (av. 12.2, n=6); 7 ventral and 7 dorsal ridges (Fig. 2E). Ridges extend from near amphids and to level of caudal bursa of males or to level of vulva of females. Ridge number of males constant; in females 9 dorsal and 11 ventral ridges in postvulvar region. Ridges fuse at level of tail. Male: Total body length 3.00-3.87 mm (av. 3.41 mm, n=12). Width at cephalic extremity 22-24 (av. 23, n=12), maximum width 98-115 (av. 99, n=12). Cephalic
