Intramolluscan larval stages Sporocyst. Shortly after penetration, the miracidium undergoes noticeable changes such as decrease in size, shedding of epidermal plates, loss of some internal structures (apical papilla, apical gland, penetration glands) and breaking down of embryo balls into separate germinal cells. Mature sporocysts were located near to the hepatopancreas and they measured 600-700 by 200-260pm in size. Ream. The first rediae emerged on the 9th day post infection. The first mature rediae were usually found within the hepatopancreas and measured 458-680 pm in length and 180-250 ^m in width. The inner structures are a digestive system, a nervous system, and excretory system and a germinal tissue. Cercaria. The fist free cercariae were liberated from the rediae on the 16th day post infection; the mature cercariae were 280-400 pm in length and 160-240 pm in width, while the tail was 190-300 ^m in length. They were dark brown, sluggishly swimming organism with two eyes located on the dorsal surface. Emergence of cercariae was observed on the 55th day post infection. Adolescaria. Emerged cercariaae encysted in a short time. Adolescariae were spherical or oval in appearance, measuring about 200pm in diameter. Development in definitive host. A three-month-old goat was fed adolescariae and the first eggs were found on the 12th and 13th weeks post infection. The take was 35.7%. Habitat: rumen. Hosts: Bos primigenius f. taurus, Ovis ammon f. aries, Capra aegagrus f. hircus (exp.), Cervus elaphus.
