Hung. 13. 7- 12. 1980. ABSTRACT. The results of systematical and taxonomical studies on bat trematodes collected in Iraq are given. The paper discusses some species of taxonomic interest. In October - November, 1977, Dr. Gy. TOPÁL and F. ZILAHI mammalogists of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest have been on a zoological collecting trip to Iraq. During their journey they preserved the digestive systems of the collected bats in alcohol. The fixed intestines were dissected in the Parasitological Laboratory of the Hungarian Natural History Museum. The present paper submits the result of systematical investigations conducted on trematodes obtained by dissection of the bat guts. The collected bats originated from the following districts of Iraq: Djebel (Dj.), Baghdad (B.), Hatra (H.), Mosul (M.), Ukhaidhir (U. ), Haditha (Had. ), Ane (A.), El Hashfe (E. ), Babylon (Bab.), Kifil (Kif. ). The locality names henceforth are used in an abbreviated form. The material was post-fixed in BOUIN' s fixative and stained with alum-carmine.
