DISCUSSION No data referring to bat trematodes have been known from Iraq. During the elaboration of the present material, the best references come from Indian (MATSKÁSI, 1973), Afghan (GROSCHAFT and TENORA, 1971), Egyptian (LOOSS, 1896, 1907; SAOUD and RAMADAN, 1977ab; MACY, HEYNEMAN and KUNTZ, 1961) areas. On the basis of the distribution of the species collected in Iraq, the material is divided into three groups. In the first group are the Eurasian and South-Asian species ( Pia- giorchis vespertilionis, Lecithodendriura linstowi , Prosthodendrium chilostomum , P. par vouterus, P. ascidia, Anchitrema sanguineum. In the second group is the species occurring in India, and in the Far-East ( P. ovimagnosum ). The third group comprise of the species occurring in Egypt (P. urna, P. glandulosum ).
