C. cricetorum is a common parasite of Clethrionomys glareolus, it can also be found in other Microtinae species, however according to the latest studies (MAS-COMA et al., 1978) C. a siatica Tenora et Murai, 1975 live in these species. The C. cricetorum specimens collected in the Retezat Mountains are identical with the specimens of the population of Hungary (MURAI, 1974), as far as theirmorphology is concerned. The specimen collected in M. nivalis did not contain ripe eggs, thus possible differences could not been evaluated. This was the first ever reporting on the occurrence of C. cricetorum in the territory of Roumania. From Roumania CHIRIAC and BARBU (1963), CHIRIAC and HAMAR (1966), POPESCU and BARBU (1971), and POPESCU et al. (1974) reported that beside Mus musculus it can also be found in the following hosts: Microtus arvalis, Apodemus agrárius, A. flavicollis, A. microps, A. sylvaticus, and A. tauricus; among these latter data probably C. cricetorum and Skrjabinotaenia lobata occurrences are hidden.
