Neverth­eless, their description as independent species is not possible for lack of appropriate cross infection experiments. Two species of this category should be mentioned here, on account of their great frequency of occurrence; 1. Round, compact oocysts, 10-14 in diameter and resembling the oocysts of Eime- ria carpelli Léger et Hollande have been frequent intestinal parasites of Gobio gobio and Phoxinus phoxinus hosts. 2. Oocysts in every respect similar to those of Eimeria leucisci Schulman et Zaika, or differing from these only in minor features, have been frequently encountered in the renal tubules of Blicca bjoerkna, Abramis brama, Alburnus alburnus and Carassius carassius hosts .
