Description of a new tarsonemid from the shakings of clothes of humans in Cornwall, England, and notes on skin rashes caused by this group of mites in the region. I have received, by the kindness of Mrs. S. TURK, Camborne, England, a tarsonemid mite representing a new species. The description is as follows: Daidalotarsonemus hewitti sp. n. Measurements. - Length: 181 p., width: 100/u. Habitus. - Approaching the basic body shape of the genus, with the polygonal-cellular sculpture of segment C well discernible. Dorsal side (Pig. 1): Anterior margin of prodorsum deeply excised. Prodorsal setae of diverse form: anterior hair thin, curved,ciliate, posterior hair rigid ,incrassate , ensiform, smooth. Hairs c-^ and c 2 thin, simple; those arising on segments D,E and ? modified into a phylliform shape; segment H emitting a pair of thin and long hairs. Ventral side (Pig. 2): Anterior sternal apodeme long, narrow, approaching arc of sejugal apodemes; at height of anterior legs with a weak, sphaerical thickening.
