Description: Medium sized Linstowiid. Length 80-200 m, maximum width of strobila 2 mm. Scolex 320-350 p. in diameter behind the suckers ,external diameter of the four 3uckers 100-115 yu, hollow of suckers 80 p in diameter (Pig.6A). First segments much broader than long, mature segments square, gravid segments definitely longer than broad, 2 mm long and 1*5 mm vide. Strobila increasing gradually in width posteriorad. No sexual organs for about anterior 4-5 mm length of strobila. Female sexual organs appearing at first in young segments, testes developing later. Excretory system composed of two pairs of longitudinal canals with a great number of transversal and oblique anastomoses. The wider ventral canal 25-40 ja, dorsal canal 18-30 p in diameter. Thickness of tegument a specific feature, 5-7 p in ssp . occidentalis (that of the nominate form 2-3 p) » Genital pores irregularly alternating, situated in anterior quarter of each segment. Depth of genital atrium 50 p. Elliptical cirrus pouch in young hermaphrodite segments 80 x 35 p, in hermaphrodite segments and in mature segments 100-125x40-50 p. Vas deferens coiled within and in front of cirrus pouch, extending at right angles to side of segment, traceable to median line of segment (Fig. 5). Vagina opening into genital atrium behind cirrus. Fertilisation occuring in the same segment (as observable in the holotype collected from Mus musculus). Number of testes 37-51, 35-50 p in diameter, situated in internal parenchyme on right and left sides to female sexual organs, in posterior half of segment (Figs. 1, 2 and 6C). Female sexual organs in middle of segment (Figs. 1, 3 and 6C). Ovary finely and loosely lobed, situated in two parts in upper part of segment and partly beside vitellary gland. Vitellary gland composed of compact lobes, lying posteriorly in median line of segment . Ovary 300-400 ^u, vitellary gland 125-130 p in diameter. Vagina narrow, tubular, bending tö median line of segment, traceable between ovaries, there slightly widening (assumably discharges the function of the receptaculum seminis). In fully mature segments eggs occupy the entire space of the
