Therefore, it is suggested, that the population found in Hungary should be considered a geographical subspecies. . HAÁSZ, student, in the undergrowth of a deserted stone quarry below a wooded slope in the vicinity of houses at Mátyáshegy on the right side of the Danube near Budapest. Date of collection 25 June, 1970. One female Rattus norvegicus was trapped by Mr. M.EQRY, taxidermist of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, in his garden at Pestlőrinc (suburb of Budapest )_ on the left side of the Danube. Date of collection: 27 September, 1972. Extensity and intensity:This was the first infected specimen of 113 Mus musculus spicilegus exemplars so far examined for helminths in Hungary. Two exemplars of M. symmetrica - 80 and 115 mm long - were found in its small intestine. Of 32 Rattus norvegicus specimens examined in Hungary, only one was infected with a single M. symmetrica
