Measurements in yu: Body length: 256-320; greatest width: 153176; oral sucker: 32-44 x 44; ventral sucker: 19-28 x 28-32; testes: 51-57 x 25-39 and 38-57 x 39-44; ovary: 38-57 x 32-38; prostatic mass: 32-51 x 48-51; eggs: 19-25 x 9-12. Our specimens from India do not agree in every respect with the type-specimens described by GROSCHAFT et TEHORA from Afghanistan. While in specimens discovered in Afghanistan the oral and ventral suckers are equal, in the Indian exemplars the ventral sucker is smaller than the oral one . There is an other difference between the individuals from Afghanistan and India, namely that the integument of the exemplars from India is finely spinose. Despite the above mentioned differences I list the Indian specimens as Prosthodendrium minor . Prosthodendrium ovimagnosum (Bhalerao, 1926) Hosts: Megaderma lyra (Bi ., Ba.), Taphozous longimanus (Ko., Ca.), T. melanopogon (Bhu., Ri., Ud.), Scotophilus" temmincki (Ca., Ko.), Sc .heathi (Na.,Ma.), Miniopterus schreibersi (Ma.), Rhinopoma hardwickei (Ud ., Eleph.), Hipposideros fuivus (Ud .) . Localization: intestinum. BHALERAO (1936), and later GUPTA et BHARDWAJ (1958), published the occurrence of this species in India. In our material, most of the specimens represent this species. The intensity of the infection extends to 150 specimens. Prosthodendrium ovimagnosum occurred in every one of the collecting localities, having a wide circle of hosts. On the basis of Vietnamese material, Prosthodendrium hepaticum Chen, 1954 was regarded as a junior synonym of P . ovimagnosum (MATSKÁSI, 1973). The study of the Indian specimens corroborated this statement, in so far as the material from India comprised specimens with an "ovimagnosum" type and a "hepaticum" type of ovary, respectively , and also several transitional forms. The integument of the Indian exemplars was covered with spines. Prosthodendrium parvouterus (Bhalerao, 1926) Hosts: Megaderma lyra (Bi.), Taphozous theobaldi (Ri.), T. me-
