USHM; 1 paratype in HHHM; 1 paratype in Museum d'Histoire Na­turelle, Genève . + Remarks: - The new species differs considerably from all known taxa both by its body and leg hairs. The extraordinary shape of hairs h^ and is especially striking, as well as the strongly incrassate hairs of legs I and II. Pygmephorus horridus sp . n . Measurements. - Length: 139-162 u, breadth: 78-92 p.. Habitus: Entire body surface densely ornamented with large, round foveolae. Dorsal side (Pig. 13): All prodorsal hairs longer than usual, their shape characteristic: incrassate and only apically atte­nuating. Sensillus thin. Among opisthosomatic hairs, those of segments C and D similar to prodorsal setae, their surface very finely ciliate, or rather minutely squamose . Segments E and P considerably shorter, hairs e slightly, hairs f no more incras­sate. Hairs h short and simple; hair h^ longer than the inner ones, and much more removed from them than their distance bet­ween each other (Pig. 15). Legs: Legs I (Pig. 16) and II (Pigs. 17-18) with several ensiform hairs, their edges ornamented with short cilia. Pemur of leg II with hair dP thicker than all others, in length surpassed only by hair lv" P. Also hair lv'P uncommonly thick. Leg IV (Pig. 14) with three smooth, spiniform setae, hair lv" T ciliate.
