Remarks: The new species belongs to the "spinosus" alliance. It is in closed relationship to P. spinosus Kramer, 1877,which have however striated clavs also on legs II and III,shorter hairs of femur II, both dP on lv" P setae being blunt and markedly ciliated . Pygmephorus hastatus sp . n. Measurements. - Length: 252-264- yu» breadth: 131-135 ,u. Habitus: Body surface extremely roughly punctate. Dorsal side (Pig. 7): Prodorsal hairs comparatively short, exobothridial seta hardly longer than hair c-^ .Among opisthosomatic hairs, e-^ and as we ll as strongly incrassate, and all ornamented by short lateral cilia. Hair f-^ long, thin, longest dorsal hair of all. Segment H with hairs h-^.and b^ adjacent, characteristically clavate; hair h^ removed, long, thin. Ventral side (Pig. 9): Size and form of hairs on anterior sternal plate very similar to those of the preceding species, but seta 2c essentially longer. Distance between hairs 3a on posterior sternal plate considerably greater than that between hairs 3b . Legs: Tibiotarsus of leg I (Pig. 8)-with short and clavate solenidia. A part of the hairs on genu robust and ciliate. Genus of leg II (Pig. 10-11) also with an incrassate hair, femur with setae dP and lv" P also spiniformly thickened, though ciliate. Leg IV (Pig. 12) with only one smooth, spiniformly incrassate hair (ld^ ,f ), all others ciliate.
