5-1. Mononchoides striatus (Bütachli, 1876) Goodey, I963 (Mg. 6 ) Females (n = 10): L = 1.023-1.238 mm; a = 20.4-21.4; b = 7.79.2; c = 2.9-3.1; V = 41.8-45.2 %. Maies (n = 10): L = 0.89-1.18 mm; a = 20.02-24.2; b = 6.9-8.45 c = 2.5-3.2. The nematode species can be defined by the . following characteristics: Lip ring divided into 12 individual ribs, each bifid at its anterior end .Each rib sloping outwards posteriorly, like an inverted funnel. Telorhabdions well developed and forming a definite tube before lumen of esophagus (Figs. 6 A,B). Esophagus compact, with valvated terminal bulb (Fig. 6c). Female with two well developed gonads, didelphic, ovaries reflexed and vulva nearly median. Female tail longand filiform. Male tail (Figs. 6 F,G) without bursa and with 10 pairs of caudal papillae: three pairs preanal, others arranged at tail end. It is filiform and 356-370 /u long. Spicules 34-36 /a, paired, slender and proximately knobbed. Gubernaculum nearly half spicules length with a proximal cap and distal groove. Habitat: Pentodon algerinum (= dispar) Locality: Abu-Rawash, Cairo, UAR. 6. Saprinus semipunctatus F. Beetles of Saprinus semipunctatus F. (Coleoptera: Histeridae) were collected at different places in cultivated sandy soils at Abu-Rawash. External and internal examination showed that infestation with nematode larvae occurred only beneath the elytra. Of 110 beetles only 41 individuals were infested (37.3 %). Nematode infestation ranged from 5 to 72 nematode larvae per insect. The extracted larvae were reared on artificial media, after one week the larvae developed into male and female adults. 182
