Segments wider than long, proportion of width and length of mature segments never reaching 1:1. Secondary segmentation only occasionally observable. Number of segments in well developed worms 500-600: of these cervical segments are 90-110, young segments containing organs but not ripe eggs 80-120, segments with ripe eggs 300-400. Male reproductive system: Number of testes 60-70 per segment, situated in the two lateral fields of medullary parenchyme (Pig . 4), diameter 60-90 p, cirrus sac round, spermaduct with several whorls, spirally curved (Pig. 5). Diameter of cirrus sac 90-125 FGenital atrium situated in median line of dorsal surface of segment, or slightly removed in an opposite direction to uterus sac in median-height of segment. Female reproductive system : Ovary elongated, situated near posterior margin of segment in medullary parenchyme and transversally occupying its two-thirds. Of a tubular structure, its fascicles forming a "lobe" widening towards sides of segment, eventually a similar widening observable in median line of segment (Fig. 6). Transversally 400-500 ;u, width at outer lobes 90-120 p. Vagina decurrent towards ovary along midline of proLegends to figures Fig. 1: Bothricephalus gowkongensis, scolex, view laterolateral .
