Parasit. Hung. 4. 137-144. 1971 The Hungarian Harvest Mouse (Micromys minutus pratensis), a New Host of the Bat Fluke Lecithodendrium linstowi (Trematodes) Dr. István MATSKÁSI Zoological Department of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest The fluke Lecithodendrium linstowi Dollfus, 1931» is the most frequent parasite of the Eurasian hat species. It was found in about thirty bat species to date. The known range extends from West Europe to East Asia, including also North Africa. In Hungary, it is the most abundant fluke of bats, causing mass infect ions (MÖDLINGER, 1930; MATSKÁSI, 1967). According to literature data, it parasitizes only bats (Chiroptera) , being unknown from any other mammalian orders. Of the Lecithodendrium species, L. semen (Kirschenblatt , 1941) occurs in the forest dormouse (Dryomys nitedula), while L.antetestes Prokopic, 1957, lives in the water shrew (Neomys anomalus). In the course of the helminthological investigations of our home small mammals, 63 harvest mice were dissected; 4 of them (2 <5, 2 $) were infested by trematodes. Two to twenty-two flukes occurred in one host. The specimens proved to represent Le cithodendrium linstowi Dollfus, 1931.
