longest of all, hair p only slightly shorter; hair r longer than hair s. Type-material: 1 ex. (Holotype: T-1211p-70): West of Alma, Harlan, County, Nebraska, U.S.A.; 20. January, 1970. leg.: V.L. WRANOSKY. 1 ex,(Paratype: T-1212p-70): data as for the Holotype. Holotype deposited in the Kearney State Museum, Kearney State College, Kearney, Nebraska, USA; the paratype in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, Hungary. Remarks: On the basis of its elongated fourth tibiotarsus, the new species belongs to the „longitar sus"-group, differing from the members of this aggregation primarily by the proportional lengths of the caudal hairs as well as the lengths of the coxal setae. In the species S. longitarsus Berl., 1905, S. sphaeroi- deus Kar., 1959, S. patentimerus Mah. , 1969, and S. gladifer Mah., 1969, etc., the intermediate pair of setae is invariably essentially shorter than the inner one (which is similar to the outer pair). The inner and the outer pairs are of nearly equal length in S. baculitarsus Mah., 1968, and S. sterciolus Mah., 1968, but in the former one also the outer pair of setae is as long as the other two pairs, in the latter one there arise merely 5 pairs of setae on the hysterosoma (this species shows also some further differences). I am delighted to dedicate the new species to its collector, Prof. V.L.WRANOSKY, Kearney State College, Kearney, Nebraska, USA.
