Tracheliastes polycolpus Nordmann, 1832 Host: Chondrostoma nasus. Localization: bases of fins. Locality: Rivers Tisza and Danube. Intensity: 1-2. * Discussion Of the parasites listed above, Ergasilus nanus , Ergasilus bria- ni and Neoergasilus japonicus are new for the fauna of Hungary. The species Ergasilus gibbus cannot be regarded as a member cf our domestic fauna, since it was collected from a fish originating from abroad; though all conditions for its introduction and survival are present in Hungary, unless it is recovered from a previously introduced older eel specimen it must be regarded only as a species to be encountered in the future. Among the parasites recorded above , Ergasilus sieboldi is, under Hungarian conditions, the farthest ranging species, occurring in all water-systems - except for the rapid rivers of Hungary; It occurs in greater numbers mainly on the pike and the sheatfish.
