pseudocystákat szövettani metszetekben nem tudott kimutatni. A gyógykezelés során alkalmazott oxitetraciklin és Sygmamycin nem járt eredménnyel. A kórokozó beburcolását nem sikerült teljes biztonsággal megállapítani. Valószínűnek látszik, hogy az toxoplasma-gazdaállatokkal került be a tenyészetbe. De nem zárható ki az sem, hogy talán a telepen nagymértékben elszaporodott egerek játszottak szerepet a betegség terjesztésében. A járvány egy hónap leforgása alatt megszűnt. Ez idő alatt 120 tenyészállat közül 20 és mintegy 600 fiatal nyul közül 26 pusztult el toxoplasmosisban. A nyultelepen dolgozó emberek között toxoplasmosisos eredetű megbetegedés nem fordult elő. A case of toxoplasmosis was diagnosed in a rabbit colony by successful isolation of the causative agent from fresh organs of a diseased rabbit exsanguinated immediately before sampling. No isolation could be achieved from the splanchnic organs of rabbits that had died 24 hours before sampling. Cortisone treatment of experimental animals shortened the isolation period. Clinical symptoms, pathological and histological lesions are described. Though several cadavers were examined no toxoplasma or pseudocysts could be revealed in histological sections. Treatment with Oxytetracycline and Sygmamycin was unsuccessful. The source and mode of infection could not be precisely established but it is supposed that the pathogenic organism was introduced into the colony by carrier rabbits. However, the possibility cannot be excluded that mice, which were very prevalent on the unit ,contributed to the spread of the disease. The outbreak stopped within one month. During .this period 20 and 26 animals respectively out of 120 adult and 600 young rabbits, succumbed to toxoplasmosis.
