Heligmosomum moldovensls Andreyko, 1963 from S. leucodon, Moldavian S.S.R. ( ARDREYKO, 1963); Heligmosomum apalacis Kiraenblat, 1965 from S. graecus, Ukrainian S.S.R. (KIRSENBLAT, 1965). Since the Nematode fauna of S. leucodon inhabiting Hungary 1B as yet unknown, I propose to diacuss a Nematode paraaite of thia host, found for the firat time in our country. Three male and 4 female, sexually mature, Nematodea were found in the small inteatine of two leaaer mole rata captured on 29th September, 1966, and 1 male and 8 female Nematodea in two of three further hosts captured on 24th May, 1967, near Hajdubagos, county Hajdu-Bihar , Hungary. Of the latter Nematodes, only one female was sexually mature. The examined parasites agreed in all essential characteristics with the species H. spalacis Kirsenblat, 1965. The specimens are small, rather reddish when living, spirally coiled, and their cuticle is transversally ringed. The cephalic end is surrounded by an asymmetric cuticular vesicle (Eig. la). The cuticular alae are less developed. The following anatomical details were found. Malei The body is 2.90-3.45 mm long with a maximum diameter of 0.06-0.07 mm. The oesophagus is 0.27-0.31 mm In length with the nerve ring situated 0.15. mm from the cephalic end. The symmetric sexual bursa (Eig. 2a) has two lateral and one dorsal lobe and there is a prebursal papilla 0.025 mm long. Small narrow ventral ribs emerge separately from the trunk of lateral ribs, the latter arising from a common trunk. The medio-lateral rib is most developed and the posterio-lateral rib is shorter and thinner than other lateral riba. The externo-dorsal ribs are thin, 0.075 mm lung, and apically, do not reach the margin of the bursa. The dorsal rib varies in shape but generally bifurcates, each part subdividing into two further unequal branches. The inner, longer branch bears another small side-branch pre-apically (Eig. 2b).
