SUMMARY JÓZSEF KÖBLÖS The seals of the Transdanubian Reformed Superintendence (1612-2012) The Transdanubian Reformed Superintendence had a seal made in its year of foundation, in 1612. The circular seal which is 3 cms in diameter describes the scene of Pentecost. Between two columns in the foreground the Apostles can be seen in kneeling position with a burst of flame above their head each. The ground is covered with squared stones, and in the distance two more columns can be made out. At the top of the picture the Holy Spirit floats in the shape of a pigeon, and several smaller burst of flames fall radiately from the semicircle. The legend of the seal in Latin language: Sigi//[lum] orthodax\arum] (!) ecc/es[iarum] Cisda- n«b[ianarum] authent[icum] 1612. The Superintendence sealed its official documents using this seal until 1849. Then it was exchanged with a seal with Hungarian legend and used till the 1870s. The seals with ink used later had the symbols of the Pentecostal scenes. The author has examined these changes till our times. 89 T-*
