The documents generated during the activity oi the manor's castellan (caslellanus) , the lawyer taking care of the legal representation (fiscalis) and the land-surveying engineer (geometra) make a separate archive unit. In the latter 146 socage and other handwritten maps can be found. The archives of the Vác episcopate squirish court commissioned with power oi life and death (jus gladii) and of the manor court were preserved starting from 1726. Beside the manor court records and the documents relating to them, the documents on the manor prison can be found, too. The documents of the Vác Episcopal Economic Archives can be researched with the manual prepared during the contemporary archive processing or by investigating it one by one. MAIN ARCI IIVE UNIT XII -Q u JRC :I I C >RGANIZA \ Beside the archives of the smaller, fragmentary documents of the church, church wardenship and denominational - including the Nagykőrös Calvinist and Cegléd Catholic - school board, there are documents from the Vác monastery of several monastic orders and of the Vác chapter left for us, which are kept here. The medieval authentic location archive of the Vác chapter did not survive, only the "younger" Vác chapter's renewed in 1700, though some original medieval diplomas can be found in it as well. The national records (protocolla regnicolaria) and the connected documents - admissions and confessions (jassiones), contradicitons (conlradictiones) , pro­tests (protestationes) , authorisations, lawyer confessions (plenipotentiae) , border clearances (irnjuisitiones metales), etc. - can be researched with the contemporary reference books by subject, person and settlement name. The collection complement of the archive unit contains noble letters and diplomas from between (1364—) 1714 and 1843. After expelling the Ottomans in 1686 the orders settled in Vác played an important role in renewing Catholic religious life in the town of Vác. First in 1699 the Dominicans, in 1714 the Piarists carrying out secondary school education as well, in 1719 the missionaries Franciscans, and in 1763 the Sisters of Charity maintaining the hospital and pharmacy came to the town. Except the Dominicans all of them had remaining archives, which came to the preserve of the Archives. MAIN ARCHIVE UNIT XIII - FAMILIES In this main archive unit documents of 36 families can be found, who either had estates in the area of Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kiskun County or whose members fulfilled a leading position in the county offices.
