Vízrajzi Évkönyv 78., 1973 (Budapest, 1975)

Tartalomjegyzék

The details required for the use of this Annual, in the order of the chapters of the volume are as follows: A. / DATA COLLECTION NETWORK 1. / The stations of the data collection network are given in alphabetical order, according to the following groups: water - gauge stations, groundwater-gauging wells and meteorological stations. All the water-gauges maintained by our Institute are published /standard network gauges as well as those serving research purposes/, while from among those operated by other agencies /District Water Authorities/ only data of gauges established on natural watercourses are presented. Not published are readings on flood gauges and gauges established on irrigation and drainage canals. As reference numbers of gauges operated by our Institute, code numbers employed in computer work we are used, while in the case of the other gauges, the number of the respective Water Authority in Roman numerals and the number of station in the list of the particular Authority in Arabic numerals are given. The fact of performing stage observations has been not separately noted, this observation being a condition for the publication of the station. However, the carrying out of discharge gauging, water temperature and sediment measurements has been noted by applying asterisks in the appropriate columns. Recording and telerecording stations are marked in a special way. Ground-water gauging wells /both those of the national network and those for study purposes/are presented in an alphabetical order as well as according to their reference numbers. The majority of wells is operated by the Institute. The providing of reference numbers for the stations operated by the Water Authorities was done in a similar way as in the case of water-gauge stations. Stations carrying out water temperature measurements are marked in a particular way. The majority of meteorological stations is operated by the National Meteorological Service. Some meteorological stations related to water management have been established on experimental areas or so - called typical areas. Other rain gauges are established in connection with dam-keeper and canal-keeper houses. The Annual is publishing detailed data concerning the precipitations and the depth of the snow cover only, and thus, page numbers for these data are given, while observations on air temperature, duration of sunshine and evaporation are only indicated in the column reserved for notes. Precipitation measurements are carried out on all the stations listed. Stations equipped with recording rain gauges are marked particularly. 2. / The scheme of the national gauging station network is displaying water-gauges in a hydrographical order for the Danube and Tisza basins. The legends of the symbols for the several kinds of stations /such as daily telegraphing telerecording station; daily telegraphing recording; daily telegraphing; monthly reporting, simple recording and nonrecording water-gauge stations/ are shown on the sketch itself. 3. / The list of stations of the national gauging station network according to watercourses is essentially a description of the above scheme according to a hydrographical order. In this list, the names of daily telegraphing stations are underlined, the recording and telerecording water-gauges are marked. 4. / Registered data of the gauges of the national gauging station network are published in an alpha - betic order. There, the following data are listed: name of the location and of the watercourse; distance of the water-gauge from the mount of the river; extension of the catchment area; altitude of the gauge zero above sea level according to the reference datum of the particular geodetic survey; date of the starting of observations; page number at which the observations are to be found; specified location of the water-gauge /e. g. on a bridge, barrage, sluice, etc./. Recording and telerecording water-gauges are specially marked. 5. / The corrections for water stage data refer to data contained in the earlier publication "Vízállások" /"Gauge readings"/ and in the earlier volumes of the Hydrographic Annual requiring and adjustment to actual gauge zeros. In the present volume, we are resuming the corrections enlisted in vol. 1934 of the Annuals as well as those which became necessary since that time. The table in containing the values to be added to or to be substracted from the then published gauge readings. The last column contains supplementary remarks. 6. / In this chapter stations of the observation network of the International Hydrological Decade are published. The spatial distribution of the stations is given on the chart of_a. /stations on rivers, on lakes, evaporation stations, lysimeter stations, typical and experimental areas/, while in b., the stations and the hydrological items there observed are enlisted. 7. / The scheme of arrangement of the groundwater observation, spring yield and precipitation measurement stations is displaying the position of stations according to catchment areas as well as the system of numbering the sub-areas. The actual catchment area of the Danube is divided into two main sections /one situated upstream of the mouth of the river Ipoly and the other one situated downstream of it /, while the catchment area of the Tisza is divided into a section situated upstream of the mouth of the Bodrog and the other is situated downstream of it. Both pairs of main sections are further subdivided accordingto the mouths of some major tributaries. — 14 —
