Among the problems of library supply for national minorities, the question of the day was to render assistance in acquisition work. The Centre carried on its own researches in the fields of library pedagogy, sociology of reading, literature supply and classification theory. Among the services offered to libraries the semi-monthly published guide for acquisition, entitled "Uj Könyvek" (New Books) should be mentioned as well as the quarterly published "Eseménynaptár" (Calendar of Events) assisting extension work of libraries; last but not least the documentary journals based on the stock of the Library Science Library should be emphasized. The participation in the preparation and administration of the IFLA Conference in Budapest was the principal task arising from international affairs. In addition, the Centre's members participated in several international conferences.
