Buhl, P. N.: Platygastridae (Hymenoptera) from Mongolia
notauli; hind margin medially with a small, smooth blunt prolongation reaching base of scutellum; scuto-scutellar grooves with dense, conspicuous hairs. Mesopleuron smooth. Scutellum (Fig. 57) at level of mesoscutum, slightly smoother than this, densely hairy, posteriorly almost vertical. Propodeal carinae short, area between them much transverse, unsculptured. Fore wing distinctly overreaching tip of metasoma, 0.8 x as long as body, 2.4 x as long as wide, almost clear, with fine and dense microtrichia; marginal cilia short. Hind wing 5.2 x as long as wide, with two hamuli; marginal cilia 0.3 width of wing. Metasoma (Fig. 58) nearly 1.1 x as long as head and mesosoma combined, 0.75 x as wide as mesosoma. Tl with two strong longitudinal keels. T2 striated in basal foveae to 0.8 of length, medially smooth. T3-T5 smooth except for faint microsculpture along narrow hind margins, T6 with some traces of microsculpture; T3 with three distinct hair-implantations on each side, T4-T5 each with a medially interrupted transverse row of deeply implanted hairs, T6 with a few hair-implantations. Material examined - Holotype female: Mongolia, Zavchan aimak, Choit chunch, 26 km ENE of lake Telmen nuur, 2150 m, 13.VII. 1968. Remarks - Differently sculptured than similar species such as P. danielssoni BUHL, 1998 and P. rufitibia BUHL, 1999. Scutellum rather similar to that of P. abrupta BUHL, 1994 which has much shorter metasoma than P. zavchanensis, cf. BUHL (1994a, 1998/7, 1999a, 2003). Platygaster spp. Remarks - 2-3 species could not be placed but were too poorly characterised to be described as new. Pyrgaspis haloxylonomyiae KOZLOV, 1967 Material examined - 4 females, Gobi Altaj aimak, Schargyn Gobi SE corner, 1130 m, 24.VI.1966; 1 male, Southgobi aimak, 100 km W of border post OvotChuural, 1250 m, 23.VI. 1967. Synopeas alatus sp. n. (Figs 59-62) Female-Length 0.9 mm. Black, A1-A6 and legs entirely and almost uniformly light yellowish brown. Head from above (Fig. 59) 1.9 x as wide as long, very slightly wider than mesosoma (15:14), without occipital carina, weak and in part slightly transversely reticulate-coriaceous; diameter of lateral ocellus hardly as long as OOL; OOL:LOL = 3:7. Head in frontal view wider than high (15:13); antenna (Fig. 60) with A 1 shorter than height of head (11:13). Mesosoma 1.4 x as long as wide, very slightly higher than wide. Sides of pronotum weakly reticulate-coriaceous, smooth in lower 0.4 and along hind margin. Mesoscutum sparsely and evenly hairy, weakly reticulate-coriaceous, without
