Buhl, P. N.: Platygastridae (Hymenoptera) from Mongolia

Platygaster Ichloropus THOMSON, 1859 Material examined - 1 male, Central aimak, Bogdo ul, Bugijn az achuj, 1650 m, 3 I.V. 1967; 1 female, Bulgan aimak, between Somon Chischig-Öndör and Somon Orchon, 23 km NNE of Somon Chischig-Öndör, 1390 m, 15.VI. 1968. Platygaster compressicornis (THOMSON, 1859) Material examined - 2 females, Chovd aimak, Mongol Altaj mountains, 6 km N of pass Bag Ulaan davaa, 2800 m, 9.VII. 1966; 1 female, Uvs aimak, pass Ulaan davaa, at eastern slope, between lake Örög nuur and Ulaangom, 1950 m, 6.VII.1968. Platygaster crenulata sp. n. (Figs 29-32) Female - Length 1.4 mm. Black, antennae and legs hardly lighter, very dark brown. Head in dorsal view (Fig. 29) fully twice as wide as long, very slightly wider than mesosoma; occiput rather strongly and densely transversely striated; vertex finely and somewhat transversely reticulate-coriaceous; frons finely fan-like reticulate-coriaceous. OOL and LOL about equal. Head in frontal view one and a third times as wide as high; antenna (Fig. 30) with Al 0.8 x as long as height of head; preapical antennái segments each about as long as wide. Mesosoma 1.5 x as long as wide, 1.1 x as high as wide. Sides of pronotum finely longitudinally reticulate-coriaceous, smooth along rather narrow hind margin. Mesoscutum with few hairs, finely reticulate, almost smooth on lateral lobes and posteriorly on mid lobe, sculpture stongest in front of notauli, these missing in anterior 0.4; mid lobe slightly prolonged to base of scutellum, rather narrow here; scuto-scutellar grooves moderately hairy. Mesopleuron smooth. Scutellum (Fig. 31) smooth, with rather sparse hairs. Metapleuron with pilosity all over. Propodeal carinae short, much transverse area between them smooth. Fore wing 0.8 x as long as body, 2.2 x as long as wide, clear, with fine and dense microtrichia; marginal cilia short. Hind wing 4.8 x as long as wide, with two hamuli; marginal cilia 0.2 width of wing. Metasoma (Fig. 32) fully 0.9 x as long as head and mesosoma combined, as wide as mesosoma. Tl strongly crenulated with three slightly stronger longitudinal carinae. T2 strongly striated in basal foveae to nearly 0.6 of length, medially to slightly less than half of length. T3-T6 smooth, T3-T5 each with a medially interrupted transverse row of rather superficially implanted hairs, T6 with scattered hairs. Material examined - Holotype female: Mongolia, Central aimak, ca. 30 km E of Somon Nalajch, 1530 m, 14.VI.1966. Remarks - Differs from P. intermedia BUHL, 2004 and P. uniformis BUHL, 2004 in shape and sculpture of head and in sculpture of T1-T2, from P. eriphyie WALKER, 1835 in having notauli incomplete. P. crenulata is generally similar to P. gyrone SZELÉNYI, 1958 but has slightly less slender antennae, denser microtrichia on fore wings, and more striated T2 than this, cf. SZELÉNYI (1958). P. cre-
