Type material - Holotype (male): Laos, Champassak Prov., Dong Hua Xao NBCA, 2 km S of Nong Luang village, the bank of Touay-Guai stream, 15°4'N, 106°13'E, 800 m, 1-5 April 1998. (HNHM). Paratypes: same locality, 3 ex. (HNHM, 1 ex. - LM); - Laos, Champassak Prov., Dong Hua Xao NBCA, camp near Nam Phak River, 15°58'N, 105°55'E, 280 m, 28-29 March 1998,1 ex. (LM). Remarks. Resembles in colour A. collaris BALY, 1877 but larger, with confused punctures near suture, shorter basal segment of hind tarsus and unarmed process of the first abdominal segment. Chabria ornata laosica ssp. n. (Alticinae) Description - Differs from the nominotypical form by entirely black or pitchy black prothorax and practically impunctate elytra; apical antennái segment also black with fulvous apex. Typical form from Cambodia and Thailand has prothorax red, sometimes with two black spots, elytra distinctly punctate and 11th antenna! segment usually entirely fulvous. Type material-Holotype: Laos, Louangprabang Prov., 5 km W Ban-Song Cha (20° 33'N, 102° 14'E), 1200 m, 1-16. V. 1999, leg. V. KUBÁN (NHMB). Paratypes: same locality, 1 ex. (NHMB); Louangnamtha Prov., Namtha-Muang Sing (21° 09'N, 101° 49'E), 900 m, 5-31. V. 1997, leg. V. KUBÁN, 1 ex. FAUNISTIC DATA Subfamily Criocerinae Lema (Petauristes) femomta GUÉRIN, 1844 - Laos, Champassak Prov., Dong Hua Xao NBCA, 2 km S of Nong Luang village, the bank of Touay-Guai stream, 15°4'N, 106°13'E, 800 m, 1-5 April 1998, 1 specimen. Lema (s. str.) nigrobimaculata PlC, 1924 - Laos, Bolikhamsay Prov., Phou Khao Khouay NBCA, Tad Leuk Waterfall, 280 m, 11-12 April 1998, 1 specimen. Lema (s.str.) coromandeliana (FABRICIUS, 1798) - Laos, Vientiane Prefecture, Houay Yang Forest Reserve, 200 m, 10 April 1998, secondary forest, 1 specimen. - Remarks. A specimen with bicolorous elytra (as in ab. commelinae GRESSITT). L. lateralis JACOBY, 1893 is a syn. n. of this species. Ortholema mandarensis (JACOBY, 1897) - See p. 162.
