Scydmaenus amrishi sp. n. (Fig.l) Holotype d Suriname: Carolina Creek, 6.IV. 1996, MAKHAN (only the holotype). Description (holotype d). Colour of head, pronotum, elytra and legs brown. Total length 1.40 mm, width 0.50 mm. Head about as long as wide, with white setae, also on he area between the eyes and clypeus. Eyes small and with fine facets. Antennae brown and with white setae, with a three-segmented club, 8th and 9th antennái segments rounded, 10th oval, 10th is as long as the 8th + 9th. Pronotum longer than wide, widest at anterior third, and with white setae, depressions absent. Elytra oval, longer than wide, widest at the middle, with white setae, depressions absent. Scutellum absent. Legs simple, femur swollen and with white setae. Male genitalia (Fig. 1): páraméra absent, median lobe with 12 setae and with sclerites. Etymology. This species is named after my son AMRISH MAKHAN. Scydmaenus rishwani sp. n. (Fig. 2) Holotype d Suriname: Carolina Creek, 6.IV.1996, MAKHAN (only the holotype). Description (holotype d ). Colour of head, pronotum, elytra, and legs brown. Total length 2.20 mm, width 0.80 mm. Head about as long as wide, with brown setae, also on the area between the eyes and clypeus. Eyes large and with fine facets. Antennae brown, with brown setae, with a Figs 1-4.
