(1995): Lessinirhynchia (Brachiopoda), a replacement name for Lessiniella Vörös, 1993, non Lessiniella Pavan, 1941. - Annls hist.-nat. Mus. natn. hung. 87: 55. Abstract - Lessiniella VÖRÖS, 1993 (Brachiopoda, Middle Jurassic) is a junior homonym of Lessiniella PAVAN, 1941 (Coleoptera, Recent). A replacement name Lessinirhynchia is designated for the brachiopod genus. The name of the Middle Jurassic brachiopod genus Lessiniella VÖRÖS, 1993 is a junior homonym of the Recent insect genus Lessiniella PAVAN, 1941 (order Coleoptera; family Cholevidae; subfamily Bathysciinae). The replacement name Lessinirhynchia is here designated for the brachiopod genus. The type species is Lessinirhynchia benettii (VÖRÖS, 1993). The homonymy goes back to the Lessini Mts. (Southern Alps, Italy) and the caves there. It is not an excuse for the obvious mistake of the present author, but a remarkable and funny coincidence that the beetle Lessiniella lives in caves (PlVA 1993) and the brachiopod was collected also from a cave in the Lessini Mts. * * * Acknowledgements - The author is indebted to Prof. PAOLO MIETTO (Università di Padova, Italy) for pointing out the homonymy and providing a recent reference on the cave-dwelling insects.
