developed accessory sclerites do not provide satisfactory distinction, either. Therefore, 23 female specimens from the type locality (Kumgang-san) remained unassociated and could belong to reitteri (Luze) or to steinmanni sp. n. Distribution - It is known onnly from the type locality, Kumgang-san in southeastern North Korea. More information of this locality is mentioned in the description of E. merkli sp. n. Phenology and ecology - The specimens were collected in May, by netting from roadside shrubs and flowers. Eusphaierum delyi sp. n. (Figs 17-18,42-43) Material examined - Holotype, male and 1 paratype, female labelled: Korea, Mt. Pektusan, environs Sam-zi-yan hotel, lakeshore, 19.VII.1977, No. 376, netting in grassesjeg. DELY et DRASKOVTTS (HNHM); 14 paratypes (9 males and 5 females), Korea, Mt. Pektusan, Explosion Lake, 2000-2500 m, 18.VII.1977, No. 369, netting in grasses, leg. DELY et DRASKOVTTS (HNHM, Z). Korea, Ryanggang prov., Samjiyon, 1000 m, No. 1345, 26.VI.1988, leg. O. MERKL et GY. SZÉL, 3 males and 5 females (HNHM, Z); Korea, Ryanggang Prov., Mupo, Tuman-gang, 1000 m, No. 1363, 29.VI.1988, leg. O. MERKL et GY. SZÉL, 1 male and 1 female (HNHM); Korea, Ryanggang Prov., Paekdu-san-milyong, 1500 m, No. 1353, 27.VI.1988, leg. O. MERKL et GY. SZÉL, 1 male (HNHM); As. or., Vladivostok 919, dr. JURECEK, 10 specimens (NMP, Z). Diagnosis -Eusphaierum distinguished from the other species of the same region by reddish yellow colour (except abdomen of males, and apex of antennae that are blackish), pronotum convex with dense punctation, elytra rather elongated, aedeagus with a number of hairs on the apex of parameres, median lobe with sharpened apex, internal sac with characteristic complexes of spicules. Measurements of holotype - Width of head: 0.55 mm; length of head, from clypeus to neck: 0.29 mm; width of pronotum: 0.68 mm; length of pronotum: 0,44 mm; length of elytra, from shoulder to apex: 1.09 mm; width of elytra: 0.90 mm; length from clypeus to apex of elytra: 1.8 mm; total length, with partially retracted abdomen: 2.2 mm. Derivatio nominis - The species is dedicated to Dr. OLIVÉR GY. DELY, herpetologist, curator of Amphibia/Reptilia Collection of the Hungarian Natural History Museum until 1991. Description of holotype - Head and pronotum reddish yellow, elytra yellowish, abdomen black with two apical and (partially) antepenultimate segments reddish yellow. Legs yellowish, antennae yellowish at base, darkened from 6th segment, with blackish distal segments. Metasternum brownish yellow, rather darkened in the middle. -Head transverse (width/length ratio = 1.8), with prominent eyes, infraorbital carina less developed, close to eye; temples short; punctation rather dense, distance between punctures as wide as their diameter on average, except in the space between the subantennal depressions where the punctures are sparser; microsculpture marked with isodimetric mesh, rather elongate near internal margin of eyes, where true longitudinal ridges are not present; subantennal depressions large, scarcely confluent caudally with superficial anteocellar pits; antennae with 1st segment ovoid, 2nd ovoid, but clearly smaller than 1st, 3rd conical, elongated, 4th and 5th longer than wide, 6th subsquare, 7th to 10th scarcely transverse, 11th elongate. - Pronotum transverse and convex (width/length ratio = 1.5), widest in front of middle, fore margin nearly as long as hind, hind angles scarcely obtuse and rather rounded; median line rather depressed in fore half, with a subcircular depression in the middle in front of hind margin of pronotum; depression near hind angles large; punctation dense and strong, distance between punctures a bit smaller than their diameter, interspaces scarcely bright with distinct microsculpture with isodiametrical mesh; pubescence very short, little evident. -Elytra elongated, 2.4 times longer and 1.3 times wider than pronotum, scarcely dilated at apex, truncated as in Fig. 42, bright, with rather strong punctation scarcely confluent transversally; pubescence very short and scarcely evident. - Abdomen rather bright with very superficial microsculpture and sparse decumbent pubescence; abdominal sternites without peculiar characters. -Legs without peculiar modifications, tibiae straight, scarcely widened from base to apex. - Aedeagus (Figs 1718) large with strong parameres with a number of hairs at apical dilatation, median lobe with subacute apex, internal sac with characteristic complexes of spicules.
