Palaearctic Region crustatus BELOKOBYLSKU, 1986: USSR (Far East Maritime Territory) japonicus ASHMEAD, 1906: Japan (and Ryukyu Islands) rossicus TOBIAS et BELOKOBYLSKU, 1981: USSR (Far East Maritime Territory) takadai WATANABE, 1968: Japan Acanthormius gilvus sp. n., $ (Figs 33-37) Description of the holotype 9- Body 1.8 mm long. Head in dorsal view 1.6 times as broad as long, eye 1.57 times as long as temple, latter moderately rounded (Fig. 33). Ocelli very small and far from each other, distance between two ocelli greater than diameter of an ocellus; OOL four times as long as POL, Malar space in lateral view long, one-third longer than basal width of mandible, and somewhat shorter than height of eye. Temple in lateral view distinctly broadening ventrally, its broadest part behind eye 1.37 as broad as eye (Fig. 34, see arrows); eye small, 137 times as high as broad. Head polished. -Antenna somewhat longer than body, with 16 flagellomeres. First flagellomere six times as long as broad apically, further ones hardly shortening so that penultimate flagellomere five times longer than broad. - Mesosoma in lateral view almost twice as long as high. Mesonotum densely chagreened, dull. Notaulices distinct and finery crenulated, meeting each other in the middle of mesonotum, surface of mesonotum behind meeting point of notaulices almost smooth and shiny. Prescutellar furrow wide and with five crenulae, propodeum areolated as in Fig. 47, pair of anterior areolae subrugulose and subshiny, other areolae almost smooth to uneven, shiny. - Hind femur five times as long as medially broad. Hind tibia one-fourth as long as hind femur, hind basitarsus as long as tarsal segments 2-4. - Fore wing as long as body. Pterostigma (Fig. 35) 6.5 times as long as wide, issuing radial vein from its middle, rl as long as width of pterostigma, r2 three times as long as rl and slightly longer than cuqul, n. rec. postfureal and as long as rl. - Carapace shorter than head + mesosoma combined. First tergite (Fig. 36) behind spiracle less broadening, as long medially as wide at hind; paired keels strong, distinct and feebly converging posteriorly. Second tergite parallel-sided, 1.27 times as wide behind as long medially. Third tergite with slightly arched sides, twice as wide at its base as long medially, its opaque rim moderately concave, postero-lateralry with a pair of small tubercles (Fig. 37), in lateral view margin below tubercle hardly serrate and tubercle itself apically blunt (Fig. 48). First tergite shagreened-uneven and subshiny, second and third tergites with fine and longitudinal striation, interstriation subrugulose (Fig. 36). Ovipositior sheath almost as long as tergites 1-2. Body uniformly yellow. Antenna pale yellow, last four flagellomeres whitish. Palpi and legs straw yellow. Wings subhyaline, pterostigma opaque yellowish. 6 and host unknown. Type material - Holotype 9: India, West Bengal, Darjeeling district, Kurseong, 1000 m, 18 October 1967, leg. TOPÁL. - Holotype is deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest; Hym. Typ. No. 7352. Etymology - The species name "gilvus" refers to the uniform yellow colour of the body. The new species, Acanthormius gilvus sp. n., seems to be nearest to A. malayensis WATANABE, 1968 (Malaysia) 2 considering their common features as (1) long malar space, (2) apical tubercles of third tergite wanting, (3) pterostigma issuing radial vein from its middle and (4) corporal length very small, i.e. below 2 mm. The distinctive features between the two species are of specific value though not easy to recognize them: A. gilvus sp. n. A. malayensis WATANABE 1. Body 1.7 mm long. 1. Body 1.2 mm long. 2. Antenna with 16 flagellomeres (9) 2. Antenna with 12 (9) as well as 12-13 (d) flagellomeres. I know A malayensis on the bas» of its original description only (WATANABE 1968).
