Universal veil together with the partial one forming the boot-like ring or the zones on the stem or the volva. Spores ovoid - spherical. Usually out of woods (except of A. maleolens ) p. 42 I. group: Bitorquis Ring more or less boot like p. 42 II. group: Gennadij Volva present. Ring absent p. 43 III. group: Bisporus Ring at least apparently peronate. Universal veil present at a primordial stage, later hardly visible on the surface of the stem. On manure or on manured soil. (If in coniferous woods: A. subfloccosus , see VII. group: Fusco-f ibrillosus ) p. 43 B. sectio: Agaricus L.: FR. ss. KARST. Ring pendent, it can be peeled of upwards. Flesh on cut-surface as a rule slightly reddening (except of the reddening A. bohusii . Smell only at A . moellerianus almond-like. As a rule in grassy places, rather seldom in grassy edges of woods (except of V. group: Vaporarius) p. 44 IV. group: Campestris Gill edges fertile, i.e. without cheilocystidia , therefore concolorous with the gill faces. Gills often bright rosy. Ring small, thin p. 44 V. group: Vaporarius Gill edges sterile, i.e. with cheilocystidia. With remnants from the universal veil on the stem. Size middle to large p. 45 C. sectio: Sanguinolenti (MOELL. et J. SCHFF.) SING. Ring pendent, i.e. it can be peeled off upwards (except of A. subflocco- sus ). Flesh on cut-surface reddening (rather slightly: A. altipes , depau- peratus , only in young stage: A. impudicus ). As a rule occurring in woods p. 46 VI. group: Silvaticus Stem bulbous. Spores small, as a rule up to 6.5 jum long. Cap fibrillosesquamose except of A. benesi ) p. 46 VII. group: Fusco-fi brillosus (rather heterogeneous group) Stem as a rule without a bulb. Spores up to 7.5 jim . Stem fi.brillose, squamose, floccose p. 47 VIII. group: Langei Stem as a rule not bulbous. Spores relatively large: 7-10 jam long. Cap fibrillose-squamose or nearly smooth .- p. 48 IX. group: Altipes Flesh rather slightly reddening. Stem cylindrical or slightly clavate, not bulbous. Cap smooth or finely fibrillose-squamulose p. 49 2. Flavescentes MOELL. et 3. SCHFF. Fruit body yellowing when handled. Smell of almonds, anise, Corydalis or of Jodoform, Indian ink or carbolic hardly with any smell: A. amanitaeformis , chionoderma , maskae , romagnesii . Ring pendent, it can be peeled off upwards.
