The type series of Lagria pulchrivaria consists of 23 specimens. Two of them mounted on a card have been supplied with Lea's type label and the register number (I. 6672); furthermore, the male (right) specimen has been indicated by the letters "TY" on the card. Thus it should be considered as holotype, while the left female is a paratype. The holotype is labelled as follows: pulchrivaria Lea Type Tambourine | Lagria pulchrivaria Lea 2: N. S. W.
