Both morphologically and geographically, it is an isolated species and does not appear to be closely related to any other Ecnolagria. Ecnolagria schneiderae sp. n. (Figs 32-33, 40-42, 57-58, 83, 112-113) Body elongate, nearly parallel-sided (rf) or oblong oval, widening posteriorly ( $ ). Head, pronotum and scutellum dark metallic green, elytra dark purpureo-violaceus, with strong green tint. Ventral surface reddish brown. Antennae black with segment I brownish at base. Legs black with femoral base reddish. Dorsal surface with punescence rather short and erect on pronotum; short, not very dense and nearly decumbent on elytra, with few, somewhat longer erect hairs near to apex. — Length 12.0-13.5 mm. f (Holotype). Head densely and coarsely punctate. Frons slightly impressed between eyes. Interocular distance narrow, as wide as half of eye diameter (101 =50). — Antennae long and slender (Fig. 32), segment I nearly 1.5 times as long as interantennal distance (IAI = 148.9). Relative lengths of segments VI to XI are 19 : 18 : 17 : 14: 12: 50, i. e. last segment shorter than 4 preceding combined. Segment IX conspicuously, X very weakly lobiform at inner side. — Pronotum slightly transverse (PNI = 91.6), barely convex, widest at middle, with 4 hardly discernible depressions. Punctation sparser but coarser that that of tead. Interspaces irregularly raised, plicate, smooth. — Elytra subparallel-sided, moderately convex. Apex truncate, epipleura slightly turning out preapically at inner edge. Punctation fine and dense, interspaces not raised, not plicate, smooth. •— Metasternum with weak median protrusion rounded. Abdominal sternite I with a less prominent median keel, II with an acute tubercle in the posterior half. Last abdominal segment distinctly emarginate at apex. — Legs rather slender and long, femora moderately clavate. Fore tibiae with a large, blunt tooth in the middle and some much smaller denticles between the large tooth and apex (Fig. 40). Middle tibiae abruptly widening in the middle, with small denticles at distal half (Fig. 41). Hin tibiae with a very broad, obtuse tooth before middle and a row of much smaller acute denticles toward apex (Fig. 42). — Aedeagus as figured (Figs 57-58). — Habitus : Fig. 112. 9- Much broader. Interocular distance nearly as wide as eye diameter (101 = 95.8). Antennái segment I shorter than interantennal distance (IAI = 74.5). Relative lengths of segments VII to XI are 18 : 17: 16: 14: 40, i.e. last segment shorter than 3 preceding combined. Segments IX and X simple (Fig. 33). Pronotum more transverse (PNI = 84.2). Elytra rounded at apex. Surface of metasternum and abdominal sterna even. Last abdominal segment roundec at apex. Legs slenderer, tibiae unarmed. Habitus: Fig. 113.
