With regard to the relationships of total iron content with deformation the kaolinite from Rochlitz containing iron bearing minerals (hematite) as a discrete phase, further the kaolinite from Sasca-Montana were not taken into account. The following trend could be recognized and expressed in a regression equation: total iron content increases with increasing deformation (Fig. 4). When total iron content increases, the degree of order diminishes; plotting these values in a semi-logarithmic scale the points can be approximated by a straight line. It is obvious that these results are not sufficient to answer the question whether the iron is incorporated into the crystal lattice or not. Consequently these values based on thermal parameters and X-ray diffractometry characterizing the crystallinity of kaolinites are suitable to establish crystallinity sequences and there are correlations between them, as well as between the parameters of lattice order and total iron content.
