Hylochoerus meinertzhageni THOMAS, 1904 Specimens : "Abyssinia" (1 çf, .S; 1 sex?, tusk). Notes : The rostral portion of the skull of an adult male with both tusks missing and a pair of mandibles with cut-off aboral portions, obtained from the same collector (M. GAJDÁCS) and almost certainly belonged to the same individual. A separate tusk does not fit into the alveole of the rostrum, so it certainly must have belonged to a different individual. Tragelaphus strepsiceros chora (CRETZSCHMAR, 1826) Specimens : Arussi province (1 çf, S.), "Abyssinia" (1 çf, .S), Arba (1 çf, .S). Notes : The skulls are incomplete, with horns. Sight records (A. D.): Awash Gorge, Awash National Park. Tragelaphus imberbis (BLYTH, 1869) Specimens : "Abyssinia" (1 çf, .S). Notes : Incomplete skull with horns. Sight records (A. D.): Awash river, Awash National Park. Tragelapjius buxtoni (LYDEKKER, 1910) Specimens : Chilalo Mountain (1 çf, S.), "Abyssinia" (2 çf, S.). Notes : The specimens are from old collections, the ones with no exact locality are foreparts Ihead and neck) of skins. The present status in Ethiopia seems to be satisfactory only in the Balé National Park. Sylvicapra grimmia (LINNAEUS, 1758) Specimen : "Abyssinia" (1 çf, .S). Notes : Although said to be the commonest Ethiopian antelope and the only duiker in the country, the northeastern limits of its distribution are not known (ANSELL, 1968). The subspecies abyssinica THOMAS, 1892 occurs in the country. Sight record (A. D.): 8 km south of Dessie. Oryx gazella beisa (RÜPPELL, 1835) Specimen : "Abyssinia" (1 çf, .S). Notes : Horns with a small portion of the skull, now mounted on a specimen from E. Africa. Sight record (A. D.) : numerous in Awash National Park. Alcelaphus buselaphus swaynei (SCLATER, 1892) Specimen : "Abyssinia" (1 sex?, .S). Notes : Frontal portion of the skull with horns. The slender, curly bracket-shaped horns certainly belong to this rare Ethiopian subspecies. Its present status was discussed in TISCHLER'S (1975) work. Litocranius walleri (BROOKE, 1878) Specimen : "Abyssinia" (1 çf, .S). Notes : The incomplete skull with horns and the incomplete locality data do not permit subspecific allocation. Madoqua saltiana (DESMAREST, 1816) ? M. phillipsi THOMAS, 1894 Specimens : Awash Mountains, Danakil (1 çf, .S), "Abyssinia" (2 sex?, .S). Notes : Due to the lack of skins, exact locality data and comparative material, and to some extent because of the inadequate keys, identification was not possible to the species. Most probably
