ANNALES HISTORICO-NATURALES MUSEI NATIONALIS HUNGARICI Tomvjs 74. Budapest, 1982 p. 273-294. Salticidae (Araneae) from Mongolia* by J. PRÓSZYNSKI, Siedice Abstract — A report on 26 species of Salticidae from Mongolia with appropriate taxonomic remarks and descriptions is given. The following new species are described : Dendryphantes chul•densis, Pellenes chanujensis, Yllenus somonensis, as well as unknown Q of Aelurüuus potanini (SCHENEKL, 1964) and Chalcoscirtus micans (CAPORIACCO, 1935) comb. n. Geographical distribution of species, including new data from adjacent countries and provisional zoogeographical characteristics of the Mongolian Salticidae fauna are given. With 52 figures and 1 map. The Salticidae fauna of Mongolia is very imperfectly known and the indeterminate materials in various collections are scanty. Therefore the material of some 239 adult specimens of Salticidae collected in Mongolia by Dr. Z. KASZAB during his travels in the years 19651968 (Illrd-VIth Expedition) has special importance and is probably the largest collection at the moment in the World. So I am extremely grateful to DR. ZOLTÁN KASZAB for his permission to study that valuable collection, deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum. The majority of specimens was collected in soil pitfall trap baited with a mixture of ethylalcohol and glycerin, these were emptied Map 1. •- •— : International frontiers. — : Aimak frontiers. - • : Collecting points of spiders during DR.
