rare, and I have so far, except for these two, only seen two from Sweden and one from Egypt. — /. flavicornis is a very characteristic and easily recognized species, which belongs to a quite different species-group than /. coxalis. Idris psammon SZABÓ, 1965 — Mittelgobi aimak: Choot bulag zwischen Chuld und Somon Delgerchangaj, 38 km ONO von Delgerchangaj, 1480 m, 10. VI.-12. VII. 1967 (Nr. 782), 40 9 (+ two specimens which are lost, but from the remnants of the wings it is clear that they belong to this species). — Chövsgöl aimak: 84 km W von der Stadt Mörön, ca 10 km NO vom Fluss Delger mörön, 1650 m, 20. VI. 1968 (Nr. 987), 9 (Exp. DR. Z. KASZAB 1967, 1968). — In Museum Budapest. The material is very homogenous and no variation or pronounced differences from the European specimens could be found. The only exception is that the first tergite is yellowish and does not agree in colour with the rest of the metasoma. In the European specimens the metasoma is almost completely of a chestnut brown and the first tergite is hardly lighter. Also in this material, as in the European, larger specimens have a slightly more pronounced microsculpture with the borders of the meshes somewhat elevated. Thus, the punctate reticulation interspersed with punctures gives a more rasp-like impression. I. psammon is a fairly well recognized species, rather close to /. flavicornis, and cannot likely be mixed up with /. coxalis. Idris semiflavus (KIEFFER, 1908) — Bajanchongor aimak: Oase Echin gol, 90 km NO vom Grenzposten Caganbulag, 950 m, 27.-28. VI. 1967 (Nr. 855), 9 (Exp. DR. Z. KASZAB 1967). — In Museum Budapest. This specimen is but somewhat smaller than the typical /. semiflavus. Thus, the head is slightlynarrower and thorax and metasoma inconspicuously wider. The longitudinal ridges on the disc of the propodeum are slightly less well-developed. But all these differences are, however, hardly measurable, and this specimen is without doubt /. semiflavus, according to the way I interpret that species. Unfortunately, this is one of the few species of which 1 have so far not been able to study the types. Definitely, it cannot be /. aureonitens as, among other things, the eyes are considerably larger; the microsculpture on the head, the thorax and especially on the matasoma is quite different, with much smaller meshes than in /. aureonitens. * * * In conclusion, it is surprising that, despite DR. KASZAB'S very intensive collecting not more species were found in Mongolia, although several methods of collecting were used. It is also remarkable that the species found so far to the east are nevertheless the same as in Europe. But, when the Idrisfauna from the Japanese Islands, of which I have a rich material on loan, is studied, no species are found, so far, to be in common with Europe. References FÖRSTER, A.
