fore metatarsus comparatively short, about twice as long as broad; outward extention of radial cell as in T. fenchihuense. Punctures on frontal area fine and close, with interspaces less than width of a puncture and densely microcoriaceous, but punctures sparser towards median line and there surface somewhat shining ; sculpture on mesoscutum similar to that on disc of frontal area, on mesopleuron punctures slightly larger, with intervals as large as puncture width, but on subalar epimeral area finer, weaker and much sparser. Area dorsalis coarsely crenate at base, on disc finelly, fairly closely punctulate and on medial impression transversely, not strongly striate, but on apical third in dorsal aspect surface smooth and polished, posterior aspect moderately closely covered with hair-bearing punctures, metapleuron and side of propodeum except posterior portion smooth and shining. çf unknown. Holotype: 9, Taihorinsho, IV. 1910, leg. H. SAUTER. Paratype: 1 Ç , Mt. Hoozan, I. 1910, leg. H. SAUTER. 46*. Trypoxylon takasago TSUNEKI, 1966, rf new (Figs. 36-43) Trypoxylon takasago TSUNEKI, 1966a, p. 11 (9, Keeling Pref.); 1967c ( 9> keyed). Specimens examined: 1 $2^, Taihorin, XI. 1909 (9), IV. 1910 {çfçf); 1 9, Teraso, II. 1909; 1 9, Mt. Hoozan, IV. 1910. Description of çf . In appearance closely resembles 9 > but smaller in body size, with eye incision slightly broader, IOD relatively broader compared to width of head, antenna! joints shorter, ultimate joint deformed and ferruginous rings at base of mid and hind tibiae more indistinct. Length 7.5 mm. Black, with aeneous shine on mesothorax; mandible except base ferruginous, with apex reddish brown, palpi pale ferruginous, fore tibia in front and fore tarsus ferruginous and mid tarsus apieally pale brown; wings hyaline, slightly clouded, veins and stigma dark brown. (Legs with ground colour castaneous brown, but originally black?). Pilosity similar to that of 9Head from above: Fig. 36, OOD : POD = 3: 5,postocellar width relatively 5, a short ridge present between postocelli, frontal furrow broad and shallow, but with distinct bottom line running down to upper end of supra-antennal tubercle, this being a rounded elevation, not nose-shaped. Head seen in front: Fig. 37, IOD at vertex and at base of clypeus relatively 10 and 8 when head width 30 (in 9 8 and 6 when head width 30), clypeus gently roundly raised on basal half, without median ridge; antenna apieally gradually broadened, ultimate joint at base twice as broad as joint 3 at apex and in length more than two (but less than three) preceding joint united (Fig. 38), in some condition appearing nearly as long as three preceding joints combined (Fig. 39), joint 3 in narrowest view twice, in broadest view 1.8 times as long as broad at apex. Pronotum with collar laterally roundly incrassate and narrowed towards middle, posterior half behind transverse furrow discoloured as in 9 > with marginal protuberance at side of anterior depressed part in front of procoxa broad triangular and broadly rounded at apex ; propodeum with area dorsalis feebly outlined by very weak groove and broadly shallowly furowed in middle, with lateral margins marked with a carina accompanied inside by a fine shallow groove; abdominal tergites 1, 2 and 3 with relative length and maximum width, when bead width 30, respectively 37: 6, 15: 8 and 17:14, while minimum width of tergite 1 slightly less than 3, segment parallel to about 2/3 from base, having spiracles at about one-fifth from base (Fig. 40) ; fore metatarsus appr. 4 times as long as broad at apex, radial cell of fore wing with apex approaching very close to outer margin, costa extending beyond cell and certainly reaching margin (as in 9)- Genitalia seen from beneath: Fig. 41, paramere unevenly bifid at apex and broadly thinly expanded and rolled towards middle, apical portion of penis valve in vertical dorsal view: Fig. 42. Punctures on upper frons fine, with interspaces as large as dimeter of a puncture and microcoriaceous, sculpture on thorax generallv as in T. obsonator, surface without microsculpture, smooth and shining, mesoscutum with punctures finer, weaker and sparse than
