Szelényi, G.: New Palaearctic chalcid flies (Hymenoptera, Eulophidae)

Holotype ( 9 ) : Hym. Typ. No. 5966, and paratype ( 9 ) : Hym. Typ. No. 5967, both collected by J. ERDŐS in Switzerland, Engadin, Val Fain, 25 August 1964. These two specimens I found among the individuals named by ERDŐS as S. helvetica, but they are by no means conspecific with the latter, differing by the form of antennae on which the 4th funicle joint is closely associated with club, also pronotum is shorter, hardly 1/4 as long as mesoscutum, the reticulation of the thoracic dorsum is much denser, the gaster is shorter, the wings are hyaline. The paratype has mid and hind tibiae infuscated in the distal third as in S. helvetica sp. n. The species differs also from S. acalle WALK, and 8. sandanis WALK, by its brighter colour of the thorax, by the hyaline wings and by its shorter pronotum. Elachertus abditus sp. n. 9 (Fig- 9) 9 • Dark green, scape and legs, except coxae, red, funicle brownish black, tegulae red, dorsum of gaster reddish transparent. Head more than twice as wide as (on the sides between temples and anterior portion of eyes) long (37 : 15), in frontal aspect a little higher than wide (37 : 33), malar space about half as long as eye (8 : 17), vertex not margined, face densely alutaceous, poorly shining; toruli a little above lower eye line, scape not reaching front ocellus, about as long as pedicel, funicles 1-2 together, pedicel and funicle joints almost subequal, each a little longer than wide, funicle 4 slightly quadrate club a little longer than two preceding joints together, antennae very slightly broadened towards the tip. Thorax about 1.5 times as long as wide (55 : 33), relative length of pronotum: mesoscutum: scutellum as 15 : 12 : 19, pronotum and mesoscutum nearly smooth, strongly shining, with washed, engraved reticulation showing irregular aréoles, notauli in the distal portion hardly visible; sculpture of scutellum strongly contrasting with those of pronotum and mesoscutum, densely reticulated with sharply marked aréoles tending to be slightly longer than wide ; suture dividing mesoscutum from axillae and scutellum not straight, portion before axillae subtending an obtuse angle with than dividing the scutellum. Metascutellum and propodeum smooth, latter twice as long as metascutellum, with slightly indicated median carina, not narrowing to a necklike process medially, callus with 8-10 long hairs. — Wings densely hairy, speculum practically wanting closed below, cubital vein present, subcostal cell with a few minute hairs, costal cell scarcely hairy. Relation between costal cell : marginális : stigmalis : postmarginalis as 35 : 35 : 8 : 16. Legs normal, slender. Gaster longer than wide (78 : 45), a little longer and probably wider than thorax (dorsal surface strongly sunken). Petiole (Fig. 9) strongly transverse. — Length: holotype 1.7 mm; paratype 1.9 mm. Holotype (9): Hym. Typ. No. 5942; and paratype (9): Hym. Ty. No. 5943. Both specimens were collected by the author at Csévharaszt (= Pótharasztpuszta), 31 May 1969 by sweeping in a plant community of Festucetum vaginatae. Nearest to E. polygoni ERD. 1958 (Fig. 10) but differs by the alutaceous sculpture of face (vs. smooth in polygoni), the strikingly different sculpture of pronotum and mesoscutum (in polygoni they are very densely and uniformly reticulated showing circular aréoles), by the distally almost fading notauli (vs. sharply impressed in polygoni) by the form of propodeum (in polygoni in the middle almost necklike
