Gills crowded; adnate, later more or less sinuate ; 3 -5 mm deep ; at first whitish, then more or less carneous, clay- or milkcoffee-coloured with a carneous tinge, finally more or less brown. Velum cortinalike, whitish, well or w r eakly developed, fugaceous. Stem equal or attenuated downwards; 3-8 cm long, 0.3-1.3 cm wide; apex white mealy-pruinose, downwards silky fibrillose; not rarely with a ring formed by the cortina; at first especially above whitish, later downwards light ochre, melleous, brownish, base — especially later —more or less brown; fistulöse or not. Flesh whitish-pale, downwards in stem brownish or rusty brownish, later more or less brown. Smell absent or moderately raphanaceous. Taste absent or rarely slightly acrid. Spores (9.5)—10-13X 5-7 p.; smooth or moderately punctate; ellipsoid — elongated pruniform, rather pale, light melleous. Cheilocystidia 32-60x4.5-10.5 p,; below mostly ventricose.
