VI. 1968. — 10 Ethylenglycol-Bodenfallen, eingegraben in einem breiten, steinigen, öden Gebirgstal neben einem Wasserriss (aufgehoben am 16. VII. 1968). The serial numbers preceded by the symbol As refer to the Arachnid Collection of the Zoological Department of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, those introduced by No. agree with the data entered in Dr. Z. KASZAB'S diary. The holotypes and paratypes of the species described hereunder are deposited in the Zoological Department of the Hungarian Natural History Museum. Siteroptidae* Meristoplaxinae subfam. n. Siteroptid habit. Ventrum subdivided into 3 transverse sternites; of caudal hairs merely one pair originating near vulva, with two further pairs arising on preceding sternite. Trochanter of leg I with 5 hairs. Trochanter of leg IV irregularly quadrangular. Type-genus: Meristoplaxa gen. n. Remarks : Among the 3 subfamilies assigned to the family Siteroptidae, there arise merely 4 pairs of hairs on the trochanter of leg I in the subfamily Siteroptinae, and the caudal hairs are in the normal position, that is, near the vulva (on its sternite). In the-single genus of the subfamily Trochometridinae, there originate 5 hairs on the trochanter of leg I, and while most of the tergites are subdivided the configuration of the ventral side is completely different, and the caudal hairs are in the normal position. * Siteroptidae sfat. nov.; the distinctness of the recently described subfamily (7) is now essentially corroborated by the new genus herein described, hence I elevate it. to family rang, assigning to it the subfamilies Siteroptinae, Trochometrinae, and Meristoplaxinae subfam. n.
