(NEMESKÉRI et DEÁK, 1956). I took over only sex and age determinations but not the palatal data, since I reestablished all measurements by the same instrument (a pair of caliper compasses) and technique in order to eliminate all eventual measuring errors caused by the differing measuring methods of the diverse authors to which I have already alluded above. The statistical analysis was based on YULE-KENDALL'S work (1964). Of the about 1600 identified skulls, merely 485 were suitable for palatal studies and measurements. These comprised also the data of the inf. I —II and juvenile individuals whose measurements I have taken, but disregarded them in the course Graphs 1—4.
