gonatopus, do not fit Pl. horváthi. I suppose they are specific characters rather than generic and, consequently, they may be omitted from the generic diagnosis. In spite of these small differences, I place Pl. horváthi in the genus Platygonatopus. Platygonatopus horváthi ( K11: F F I: R) Gonatopus Horvalhi KIEFFER, 1906, Spec. Hym. 9, p. 503 ? Pachygonatopus (Platygonatopus) Horwathi: 1907, KIEFFER, Gen. Insect., 54-. p. 19 Platygonatopus Horváthi: 1914, KIEFFER, Das Tierreich, 41, p. 92 $ This species was described on the basis of the following specimen: „Partie. Hongrie: Krasova (Collection de Budapest)". It is to be found in Coll. Hung. Mus. and to be regarded as the holotype; there are the following data on its labels: „Krasova Friv. J. & Pavel", „229", „501" in MOCSÁRY'S writing; „typ. KIEFF. Platygonatopus Horváthi KIEFF. ÇJ " in BIRO'S writing (right fore tibia-tarsi and mouth parts on slide; left segments 4— 5 of left fore tarsi, as well as segment 9— 10 of left antennae and segment 4— 10 of right antennae missing). The following parts of KIEFFER'S diagnosis should be corrected: (1906 p. 502, 1914 p. 93) ,, Hanches et pattes d'un brun sombre ..." realy: femora . . . brown, ventral side of legs partly with lemon-yellow streaks. „. . . flagellum d'un brun sombre" correctly: segment 1 — 2 (3 partly) rather light, other segments dark-brown. „3 e . . . plus long que les deux précédents réunis" incorrect because segment 3 of antennae shorter than 1 — 2. As an addition to the diagnosis: mandibles with 4 teeth; maxillary palpi with 4 (2+2) segments, labial palpi with 2 (Figs. 13- 14). POL : OOL = 7 : 15. Ocelli forming an equilateral triangle (almost an acute-angle).Ocellar keel distinct. Head broadened behind eyes. Segment 1 — 8 of antennae = 6 : 4.5 : 10 : 6 : 5.5 : 5 : 4.5 : 4. Pronotum: mesonotum : scutellum : metanotum + propodeum = 17 : 8 : ? 4 : 22.Surface of pronotum smooth, only pronotal collar in front, and hind corner alutaceous. Mesonotum alutaceous. Border of scutellum obscured, especially posteriorly. Transversely narrowed part before propodeum smooth toward origin of legs 2. Propodeuin anteriorly smooth, slightly alutaceous, hind part transversely striated, striae extending forwards finely on both sides. Fore tibia; metatarsus (Fig. 15); tarsal segment 2-5 : enlarged claw = 22 : 14 : 2 : 2.5 : 8 : 12 : 10 (Fig. 12). Length : breadth of fore trochanter = 10:4. Abdomen short petiolated. In this genus according to KIEFFER (1914 p. 91): „Maxillar-palpus wenigstens bei einer Art 4 gliederig. Vorderer Trochanter langgestielt". Those characters does not fit with G. polichromus, the maxillary palpi in fact with 6 segments and the fore trochanter only slightly elongated, it is about two times as long as its breadth (12 : 5.5).
