Saccobolus beckii HEIMERL - 4788. Hare dung. Csévharaszt, 28 August, 1964 (apothecia hyaline, spores: 19.6x9.8 p, verrucose, situated in two 3-spored and one 2-spored rows agglomerated into 48.1 -49.8x 17.8- 19.6 p large clumps). Saccobolus depauperatus (B. & BR.) REHM — 4067. Cattle dung. „Juharos" near Máriabesnyő, 13 April, 1963. 4078. Deer dung. Csákvár, 12 April, 1963. 4341. Cattle dung. „Apró hegyek" near Keszthely, 11 May, 1963. 4342 Deer dung. „Juharos" near Máriabesnyő,13 April, 1963 4710. Deer dung. „Nagyszénás" near Nagykovácsi 16 May, 1964. 4712 Cattle dung „Pálihálás" in the Mts. Bakony, 21 April, 1964. 4713. Deer dung. „Kisszénás" near Nagykovácsi, 16 May, 1964. 4802. Hare dung. Szigetcsép, 1 June, 1962. REHM, in the description of this species, states explicitly that the spores are arranged 3-seriately in the sporal agglomerations (p. 117); however, in all materials, relegated by me to Saccobolus depauperatus above, the spores were 4-seriate (4x 2-sp.) in the sporal agglomerations. On the other hand, the size of the spores and the sporal clumps, as well as the other features and data, agreed with the description to such an extent that I could not allocate them to any other species. SaccoboluskerverniCROUAN) BOUDIER — 4072. Cattle dung. „Juharos" near Máriabesnyő, 13 April, 1963. 4319. Cattle dung. Tihany, 27 Sept., 1962 (cult.: 28 Nov., 1963). 4707. Cattle dung. „Pálihálás" in the Mts. Bakony, 21 April, 1964. The strong pressure exerted on the covering glass of the slide during examination caused the disintegration of the „mucuous heath" uniting the 8 spores, and, together with it, the common, dark brown and verrucose(l) „exosporium" broke away from the spores so that the slightly violet brownish, smooth bodies of the spores were exposed. I contend therefore that the glabrous or verrucose state of the spores is of slight taxonomical value in the genus Saccobolus, since the unmature, glabrous spores can turn verrucose in a mature state, as I had more than once observed in materials belonging to this species. 4708. Cattle dung. Apátistvánfalva 6 July, 1964. 4709. Deer dung. „Kisszénás" near Nagykovácsi, 16 May 1964 {I had occasion to observe the same phenomenon as described under 4707). 4767/b.
