Enlarged claw of fore tarsi simple with no lamellae. Pronotum transversely impressed 3 — Frons (also upper face between the eyes) concave (in Haplogonatopus only to a small degree) or excavated. Pronotum not always transversely impressed 5 3. Maxillary palpi with 4 segments, labial palpi with 2. Frons flat. Enlarged claw of fore tarsi with a minute vestigialpreapical tooth (Fig. 12), and with 5-6 short bristles, without lamellae ; fifth tarsal segment bearing two rows of lamellae, and a distal group of some longer lamellae, and with one emergent lamella (Platygonatopus KIEFFER). Suture of scutellum indistinct, especially posteriorly; the suture between metathorax and propodeum recognized only by spiracles; metanotum, the broad but shallow furrow directed ogliquely ventrally and base of propodeum smooth, shining, as well as greater part of pronotum. Head, beginning from upper face, thorax and abdomen black; dorsal side of femora largely dark-brown; coxae, ventral side of trochanters, ventral side of tibiae 2-3 with yellow streaks. Platygonatopus horváthi (KIEFFER) — Maxillary palpi with 6(2 + 4) segments, labial palpi with 3. Frons flat. Enlarged claw of fore tarsi with a vestigial preapical tooth and with at most 1 — 2 minute bristles on basis, segment 5 of fore tarsi with lamellae (Fig. 16). Suture of scutellum distinct, especially posteriorly (Chalcogonatopus PERKINS) 4 'i. Frons face on level with eyes, strongly elongated and forming a short right angle with clypeus, its surface sculptured, not shining. Head strongly thickened behind eyes. Abdomen petiolated. Only last segment of antennae black, other segments, head, pronotum, — mesonotum largely yellowish, scutellum, postnotum, propodeum in a great extent yellowish-red. Ventral side of legs with some yellow streaks. Metanotum-propodeum stout. Top of segment 5 of fore tarsi with a conspicuous long lamella (Fig. 16) Chalcogonatopus polychromus (MARSHALL) — Frons flat, situated beneath level of eyes, its seems therefore concave, not elongated, and forming an obtuse with clypeus. Head not strongly thickened behind eyes, abdomen not petiolated. At least segments 1 — 2 of antennae yellowish, other segments, as well as thorax, abdomen, black. Mesonotum-propodeum, legs 2 — 3 very slender, top of segment 5 of fore tibiae without a longer lamella (Fig. 26). Chalcogonatopus maurus (KIEFFER) 5. Pronotum not crossed by an impression, at most on both sides with a trace of a short, very slight impression 6 — Pronotum crossed, especially in middle of its fore part, by a ± distinct, transverse impression 8 6. Frons concave only to a small degree. Both sides of pronotum smooth, without trace of an impression. Maxillary palpi and labial palpi with 2 segments. Enlarged claw with 5 lamellae, and with a subapical tooth immediately near top. Segment 5 of fore tarsi with two rows of 3 —3 lamellae and a distal group of longer lamellae (Fig. 31). Fore trochanter of same length as coxa, about three times as long as its breadth; fore femur as long as trochanter which is basally much swollen (Haplogonatopus PERKINS). Only middle and hind part of pronotum, mesonotum (except the black border), segments 1 - 2 of antennae, and legs (partly) yellowish-red. Haplogonatopus bifarius (KIEFFER) — Frons deeply excavated. Pronotum at most on both sides with a faint trace of a short, slight impression. Maxillary palpi with 4 segments, labial palpi with 2. Enlarged claw with (5) lamellae and with a subapical tooth near top. Segment 5 of fore tarsi with two rows of scattered lamellae (Figs. 33, 39). Antennái segments thickened to Iwo-third of antennae. Scutellum margined behind (Dicondylus CURTIS $ ) 7 7. Pronotum and legs light yellow, mesonotum-propodeum and middle part of 1st tergite reddish-vellow. Both sides of mesonotum with blackish margin.
