Móczár, L.: Remarks of some types of Drynini and Gonatopodini (Hymenoptera)
agrees with another genus (Neodryinus PERKINS), too. On the fore part of the mesonotum of the type, (on the left side) can be seen namely a short trace of notaulices which disappears before the highest part of the mesonotum. On the right side of the mesonotum one cannot see such a trace even at 100 times magnification. This is only a deformation, not a specific feature. As for the above mentioned, further characters, they fit also to other genera. The single essential character; the chela of the genus Mesodryinus, was given by KIEFFER in two different ways. First, in the original description (1906 p. 497) see later; (1914 p. 31) as „mediales Scherenglied unbewaffnet, ausgenommen im distal Drittel . . . laterales Scherenglied nur im distalen Drittel mit 4 schmalen, gereihten Lamellen"; and secondly, just the opposite (1914 p. 30): „beide Scherenglieder mit gereihten Lamellen" or (1906 p. 499, 1914 p. 31): „Schere gebildet wie bei Lestordyinus formicarius" . Between the two opposed terms the preceding is true, according to RICHARDS'S (1953 p. 58) redescription of Mesodryinus (M. niger KIEFFER). Therefore D. corsicus cannot belong to the genus Mesodryinus. On the base of the following characters I propose Richardsidryinus gen. nov. for Dryinus corsicus KIEFFER. Female. Lobes of pronotum almost reaching tegulae, pronotum with disc much raised, posteriorly transversely rugose. Pronotum distinctly longer than mesonotum. Frons slightly convex and on a level with eyes. Antennae a little longer than head+ thorax together. Mesonotum without complete notaulices. Fore trochanter relatively short, hardly twice as long as its distal breadth. Male unknown. Type species: Dryinus corsicus MARSHALL, 1874. I dedicate this genus in honour of Prof. O. W. BICHARDS the eminent Hymenopterologist and well known specialist of this family. R. ent. Soc. Lond., 89, p. 229. According to MARSHALL'S diagnoses this species „Hab.: Corsica", . . . 1874 p. 208: „The present species was found in a hot sandy place of the Campoloro, near Ajaccio, at the roots of herbage, in July 1870". The data of the specimen examined in Coll. Hung. Nat. Hist. Mus., in Budapest, are: „corsicus M. Coll. MARSHALL" in KIEFFER'S writing, „corsicus MARSH. Corsica" in MARSHALL'S writing, further „Mesodrynus corsicus MARSH." (red) in Biró's writing. This specimen must be, without a doubt, the holotype (fig. 1). MARSHALL'S key (1905 p. 79): „Vertex excavé, situé plus bas que les yeux" referring to R. corsicus, is inexact. Frons is on a level with eyes and not deeper than them, its surface slightly convex. The following part of MARSHALL'S diagnosis (1905 p. 84): „Vertex excavé, sans carène mediane" should be corrected, namely beginning from the fore ocellus a short slight keel can be seen magnified 40 times. KIEFFER'S amendments (1906 p. 498) to MARSHALL'S description are correct, only those concerning the proportion of the antennái segments are not exact. According to KIEFFER: „3 e article un peu plus du double du scape, pas beaucoup plus long que le 4 e ". On the type scape: segment 2—10 =11 : 6 : 28 : 17: 12 : 10 : 9 : 8 : 7 : 10.
