only 29, that is, it exceeds by a small fraction only 1 / 16 of the total of the species observed. The high number of species goes hand in hand with the fact that there do not emerge high dominancy values as is the case, e. g. in the surveys of the soil fauna. So, the dominancy value of the dominant species (Pelosia muscerda Hufn.) is but 16,1, — and even this is an exorbitant value, never even approached by any other species. The subdominants are Eilema griseola Hbn. and Haritala ntralis Sc., with values 6,8 and 5,1. They are being followed by two species with dominancy values 3—4, then three with 2—3, and finally sixteen with values between 1 and 2 (cf. Table II). The dominancy values of all other species are all below 1. Species which have high dominancy values belong principally to the rank of eurichron species with high individual numbers. There were only 4 among them which appeared on the lamp on every occasion, but there were 5 which were lacking on but one occasion, and again 6 which were missing on only two surveys. On the other hand, there are species among those with a dominancy value of 1 which cannot be classified as eurichron at all, and whose higher dominancy values depended purely on their higher individual numbers.
